Effects of rings vs free weights

If you enjoy working out and do not have time to go to the gym or just don’t have access to a gym, doing body weight exercises through using rings or free weights may be an alternative. Here we cover the effects of rings vs free weights.

Although using rings may not increase your overall strength as much as using free weights, it is still a good method to use to at least maintain your current level of strength.  When you use rings for your exercises, you can use either trx or your basic rings. It is advised if you are inexperienced in any ring exercises to first use trx. This is because you do not have to stabilize yourself as much when using trx compared to rings. When your strength has increased you can them move to using rings.

If your pressed for time and are not able to go to the gym, doing at home ring or body weight exercises can help maintain the levels of strength you have. There are some good articles that compare the results of ring training vs resistance training and who may benefit from using either option. You may think that the main exercises may be things like push ups or pull ups, but there are many other exercises you can do as well when using rings.

Even though you are not using direct weight for your workout, using only your body weight as resistance can be almost as effective as using free weights. Here is a video of just a few exercises to so when using rings.

Overall, rings or free weights are good choices for resistance training. If you are unable to go to the gym though, rings may be a great way to maintain your current level of strength. It doesn’t matter if you are experienced in the gym or just starting out, rings are a great way to both maintain and increase strength.
